I am a friendly and outgoing individual. I enjoy making new friends and learning new things.

 

I studied games design at college/university and graduated with a First Class Honours Degree.

 

Currently employed at Rockstar Games (Lincoln) as a Senior Q.A. Games Tester.

 

Some of my favourite games include: Rust / Escape from Tarkov / Warzone / Call of Duty 4 / Red Dead Redemption / Bioshock / The Last of Us / Uncharted / Assassins Creed

ULTIMATE RING OF FIRE

CURRENT PROJECT - WORK IN PROGRESS - VIDEO ABOVE DOES NOT REPRESENT FINAL PRODUCT

For this project I decided to recreate the infamous drinking game, Ring of Fire.

I wanted to make it so that it was possible for anyone with a PC to have access to the game regardless if they have a pack of cards handy or not.

I will go one step further and introduce new rules to the game as well as a dice to act as a multiplier or guessing mini game. 

This taught me a lot about using arrays and blueprint communication,

INTO THE SHADE

My first ever game jam.
 

Had 72 hours to create a game inspired by the theme 'Minimalism'.

I made a 2d platformer called 'Into The Shade' in Unreal Engine 4. Going for a minimal art style. (Shapes and Colours)

RESEARCHING ANIMATION

As a designer, I find it is very limiting what you can do (especially when solo) when there is a lack of animation.

 

I decided to start learning the basics of animation, more so the logic of getting it working in engine.

 

I have learnt the basics in rigging a weapon, animating arms and weapon, implementing it into engine, setting up a player character that can use these assets and apply some mechanics to it. 

This is my progress so far. Quite happy with it for my first try and will definitely like to keep improving on this.

WARZONE U.I. REDESIGN

I HAVE FOUND CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE WARZONES U.I. MENUS TO HAVE BEEN IN NEED OF A QUALITY OF LIFE UPDATE SINCE THE GAME RELEASED.

A QUICKER, EASIER TO READ SYSTEM THAT BENEFITS BOTH THE PLAYER AND THE AESTHETICS OF THE GAME.

THIS IS MY PROPOSAL FOR HOW I WOULD CHANGE THE UI MENU'S FROM THE WARZONE GAME MODE TO IMPROVE THE USERS EXPERIENCE USING A RADIAL DIAL.

DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC A LOT OF US ARE ARE NOW QUARANTINED TO OUR HOMES WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO GO AND PHYSICALLY SEE OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. MYSELF LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE NOW USING THE LIKES OF ZOOM / DISCORD TO SPEAK TO OUR LOVED ONES. I HAVE ALSO AGAIN LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE STARTED TAKING PART IN QUIZ'S ON THESE PLATFORMS.

 

I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA TO MAKE A CLASSIC FAMILY GAME NIGHT FAVOURITE - SCATTERGORIES AVAILABLE TO PLAY IN THIS ENVIRONMENT.

THIS IS MY FINAL YEAR PROJECT FOR UNIVERSITY. GIVEN COMPLETE CREATIVE FREEDOM ON WHAT I WANTED TO CREATE I REALLY WANTED TO DESIGN SOMETHING THAT, CATERS TO MY STRENGTHS, IS IN AN AREA I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT AND REALLY TESTS MY ABILITIES. WITH THIS IN MIND I DECIDED TO CREATE A FIRST PERSON SURVIVAL GAME TEMPLATE. THIS CONSISTS OF MECHANICS / U.I. DESIGN AND LEVEL DESIGN. I WAS WORRIED AT FIRST ABOUT CREATING SUCH AN AMBITIOUS PROJECT BUT I'M SO GLAD I DID. I HAVE REALLY PUT MY ABILITIES TO THE TEST AND BECAUSE OF THIS LEARNT SO MUCH ALONG THE WAY.

NEON OVERDRIVE

THIS WAS A GROUP PROJECT. WE WERE GIVEN CREATIVE FREEDOM TO PRODUCE A GAME OF OUR CHOOSING. WE DECIDED ON A NEO TOKYO STYLE THIRD PERSON SHOOTER INVOLVING ROBOTS. WE USED UNITY TO CREATE THIS GAME AS IT WAS EASIER FOR OUR PROGRAMMER. I HAD PREVIOUSLY CREATED A USER INTERFACE IN UNREAL ENGINE 4 AND REALLY ENJOYED IT SO DECIDED TO WORK ON THE U.I. FOR THIS GAME SO THAT I COULD SHOWCASE MY U.I. SKILLS WITHIN 2 DIFFERENT ENGINES. I ALSO HELPED OUT WITH OTHER GAMES DESIGN ELEMENTS SUCH AS PLAYER BALANCING, GAME MODE AND THE INITIAL IDEA OF THE GAME.

ESCAPE TO WONDERLAND

 

I WAS SELECTED TO BE GAMES DESIGN LEAD FOR THIS PROJECT (THE JOURNEYMAN PROJECT). WORKING IN A GROUP OF 17 WAS DEFINITELY AN EYE OPENER BUT I ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT. GAINED SOME VITAL EXPERIENCE AND LEARNT A LOT IN THE PROCESS. WE WERE TASKED WITH CREATING A LEVEL BASED ON ALICE IN WONDERLAND. WHILST ALL OTHER TEAMS CHOSE TO DO A CLASSIC THIRD PERSON PERSPECTIVE WE WENT WITH THE IDEA OF CREATING THE LEVEL AS A 2.5D, SIDESCROLLER, PUZZLE GAME WITH A SORT OF DARK, SHATTERED DIMENSION THEME. MY DESIGN TEAM MANAGED TO CREATE 3 LEVELS UP TO ALPHA STAGE (WHITE BOXES, MECHANICS, GAMEPLAY ELEMENTS IN PLACE). HOWEVER WE WERE LET DOWN BY THE ART TEAM AND BECAUSE OF THIS ONLY MANAGED TO GET 1 LEVEL (SHOWN ABOVE) UP TO A POLISHED STATE.
